What’s Next For Glow?

Over the past 5 years we’ve been gathering young people from across Cornwall to encounter God’s presence, learn to live distinctively in their generation, and creatively grow in unity, community, and belonging. Each gathering featured a core theme and a time for worship, teaching, prayer, hospitality, and opportunities for young people to share and lead.

But… What’s Next..?

Officially Creation Fest has handed the reigns of Glow to the wonderful team at SWYM (South West Youth Ministries), who will be taking lead on the future of Glow.

Their first step will be to gather youth leaders from across the county to pray and seek God for what He wants these events to look like. We’ll be gathering for this time of prayer on December 1st (location TBD).

A message From Matt Banton (previous Glow Lead)

I’ve been leading Glow alongside a wonderful team of people for the past 4 years and WOW, what a joy it’s been!

One of the things that I’ve loved about Glow over the years is how we’ve been a place for the Cornwall church to unite to see young people grow their faith, find community, and have fun.

  • We’ve seen roughly 1700 young people come from 50 different churches across so many denominations.

  • We’ve seen young people make first time commitments to follow Jesus.

  • We’ve seen those struggling with their faith find strength and encouragement.

  • We’ve seen young people worship freely, whether it’s through a mosh-pit, dance circle, or on their knees in surrender.

  • We’ve seen young people share powerful testimonies and stories of the goodness of God.

  • Simply put, we’ve seen A LOT and all I can say is that it’s been an awesome journey!

I want to say a special thank you to those who have been leading and shaping Glow with me: Jewel Mackay, Jonny Lewis, Kerri Banton, Saffron Edmonds, Sarah Haig, Sarah Yardley, Tim Bulford, and the wonderful YWAM team. A big thank you goes to all those who give their time to serve either through worship, leading hubs, hosting, volunteering, cooking, praying, and so many small pieces that go into making Glow happen. Finally to all the youth leaders who I’ve met along the way, who’ve prayed with me, encouraged me, brought me honest feedback, seen me fail and succeed yet continue to believe in what God is doing, THANK YOU!

As my season of leading Glow comes to a close and SWYM pick it up I’m so excited to see what God is going to do next in our county!

This is not the end of Glow, but a new beginning.
